Inspiration
I always struggled with remembering countries capitals. There is no place where you can learn geography in a game-like format. I wanted it to feel rewarding and easy to practice. Most of this led to creation of Geo Genius.
What it does
You simply learn geography one continent at a time.
How we built it
I thought of a way to break the learning into chunks. Starting with the continents, then in each continent you will have lessons to study countries. Moreover, you have a final quiz on each of the continents to test your learnings.
Testing and learning are different from each other. If learning is more laid back and forgiving, the testing is much more difficult. Testing quizzes will have a timer and fewer mistakes allowance to truly test you.
Challenges we ran into
As with any first version, you always lack a good feedback loop. The other challenge was to collect all the up-to-date capitals, countries, and flags data. It tool a lot of manual work to do but because of that it was a much deeper research that resulted in more reliable data we could work with.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A very friendly design and intuitive UI/UX. The finished product that will be released!
What we learned
There were a lot of learning opportunities such as: -Planning and prioritization -Working under pressure -How to get to the finish line and deliver
