Inspiration

Environmental issues are growing rapidly, but awareness, transparency, and action are still limited. Many people don’t know where government funds are going or how they can personally contribute. Geo Garden was inspired by the idea of combining transparency, community, and technology to make environmental impact accessible to everyone.

What it does

Geo Garden is an all-in-one platform focused on environmental sustainability. It allows users to: Explore government schemes and track environmental spending for transparency Read and publish articles, solutions, and documentaries Donate to environmental organizations Participate in a recycling marketplace where waste can be reused Get guidance through an AI chatbot for eco-friendly actions

How we built it

We built Geo Garden using a modern full-stack approach:

Frontend: Next.js for a fast and responsive UI Backend: Serverless APIs for scalability Database & Auth: Firebase (Firestore + Authentication) Payments: Razorpay integration for donations and transactions AI Chatbot: Integrated using free LLM APIs like OpenRouter/Groq Hosting: Vercel for deployment and performance

Challenges we ran into

Structuring real-world government data in a meaningful and user-friendly way Integrating secure payment flows with Razorpay Designing a system that balances content freedom with moderation Making the AI chatbot useful and relevant without overcomplicating it Managing multiple features (articles, payments, marketplace) in a single platform Accomplishments that we're proud of Built a multi-functional platform combining transparency, AI, and sustainability Successfully integrated payments and user-generated content systems Created a concept that not only informs users but enables real-world impact Designed a scalable system that can grow into a full SaaS product
