Project Story

Inspiration

I was having a chat with my friend, and we were discussing the character similarities of Gen-Z generational cohorts. This conversation inspired me to build an app that draws similarities between generational cohorts and their star signs.

What it does

The AI assistant guides users through determining their generation cohort and star sign by asking for their name and birthdate. It then provides a personalized summary of their generation and star sign, including fun facts, key traits, and more, in a user-friendly, engaging manner.

How we built it

The project was built using OpenAI Studio. Data storage utilized a blob storage container for storing PDF data from Wikipedia pages on generational cohorts and astrology star signs. This data grounded the model, and an AI search model was employed for indexing.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was calling the Wikipedia API to ground the data directly from Wikipedia. Integrating this API required careful handling to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I successfully created an engaging and user-friendly AI assistant that provides valuable insights into users' generational cohorts and star signs. The seamless integration of various technologies to deliver accurate and personalized information is a significant accomplishment.

What we learned

Through this project, I gained a deeper understanding of generational cohorts and astrology. I learnt how to integrate different technologies to create a seamless user experience and the importance of grounding data from reliable sources.

What's next for GenStar

In the future, I plan to enhance the AI assistant by incorporating more detailed and tailored generational and astrological data. I also aim to improve the graphical user interface (GUI) for an even more engaging and colorful experience and explore additional features such as compatibility insights between different generational cohorts and star signs.
