Inspiration

Our inspiration stemmed from the desire to create a comprehensive entertainment platform that simplifies the process of discovering movies and series tailored to individual preferences. We envisioned a solution that not only recommends content but also provides detailed information and visual representations, enhancing the overall user experience.

What it does

GenreGuru is an AI-powered application hosted on AWS PartyRock that offers personalized movie and series recommendations, detailed information via a chatbot, and visually appealing images related to the recommended content. Users can input their preferences, and the application's recommendation engine generates tailored suggestions. The integrated chatbot provides in-depth details about the recommended content, while the image generation feature enhances visual representation.

How we built it

We built GenreGuru using AWS services, leveraging machine learning and natural language processing tools. The recommendation engine utilizes advanced algorithms to analyze user preferences and generate personalized recommendations. The chatbot functionality is powered by AWS Lex for natural language understanding, enabling seamless interactions with users. The image generation feature is implemented using deep learning techniques to create captivating visuals.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was integrating various AWS services seamlessly to ensure smooth functionality. We encountered complexities in fine-tuning the recommendation algorithms to provide accurate and diverse suggestions. Additionally, optimizing the image generation process for efficiency and quality posed technical hurdles that required innovative solutions.
