About the GENquiZ
Inspiration
We study at Codam (part of the 42 Network), where there are no teachers or formal lessons. We learn by researching, experimenting, and helping each other. Since we process a large amount of information every day, we wanted a tool that makes learning clearer, faster, and more grounded in real understanding.
What We Built
Our original idea was a full learning roadmap for the C programming language, including quizzes and progress tracking. During the hackathon, we realized that such a large project would not fit into a 48-hour timeframe. We decided to focus on the core feature: an AI-powered quiz generator GENquiZ. No templates, no generic questions — just a fast check of what actually stayed in your mind.
Collaboration
Although we all study C, our experience with React, backend logic, and UI design varied widely. This project became a fast crash course in teaching each other, aligning decisions quickly, and building a working product under pressure.
Challenges
Limited 48-hour deadline Finding the right project scope Stabilizing AI outputs to avoid hallucinations Learning new tools on the fly Writing clear documentation for the first time
What We Learned
We learned how to collaborate effectively under time pressure, how to build a functional application from scratch, and how important proper documentation is. Even though we simplified the original idea, we created a tool that reflects our learning environment and supports independent study.
