Inspiration
I was inspired by my parents, who take prescription medication daily. My father decided to do some independent research and discovered many of his medications had cheaper, generic alternatives and his healthcare provider had failed to inform him of this. This made me think that expanding this discovery to the American public could help others, like my father, save money on medication.
What it does
GenPills.Com is a web service that allows users to search their prescriptions and see if there is a generic version that is lower priced.
How we built it
I used HTML, CSS, and Wix site-building tools to craft the website.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge I ran into was embedding images into the website since it was something I had never done before.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am extremely proud that the website layout was exactly as I intended it to be and all the buttons work.
What we learned
I learned that the American healthcare system is damaged and something needs to be done to help consumers navigate the situation.
What's next for GenPills Incorporated
The next step for GenPills INC is consulting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to build the complete database.
