Inspiration
I wanted to test if a single developer, guided by AI, could build a polished iOS app without writing code manually. Tools like GPT-5, Claude, and Maestro MCP made it possible, while Perplexity kept puzzle logic fact-checked and Google Nano Banana sped up visuals for marketing.
What it does
Genius IQ delivers 2-minute brain workouts across Number Sequences, Verbal Analogies, Roman Numerals, and more. Players earn scores based on accuracy and speed, unlock harder levels, and can upgrade to Pro for unlimited puzzles.
How we built it
- GPT-5 & Claude → generated SwiftUI code, fixed bugs.
- Maestro MCP → automated UI tests.
- RevenueCat MCP → subscriptions in minutes.
- Perplexity → validated puzzles.
- Nano Banana → produced social-ready visuals in seconds.
Challenges
- AI reasoning sometimes slower than gameplay.
- Deterministic tests missed subtle issues like typos.
- Cultural localization went beyond text — visuals had to adapt (🇯🇵 white/red, 🇪🇸 yellow/red).
Accomplishments
- Built a working iOS app in weeks.
- 99.9% crash-free rate with AI-driven QA.
- Marketing assets generated in hours, not days.
What we learned
- Prompt clarity = code clarity.
- AI + automation multiplies one developer’s output.
- Faster runtimes or on-device ML will make real-time testing possible.
What’s next
- Smarter localization with adapted visuals.
- On-device ML for speed.
- New puzzles and community challenges.
- Full AI-powered marketing workflows (GPT-5 copy + Nano Banana visuals).
