Inspiration

I wanted to create a game that challenges puzzle lovers to push their logical thinking under tight time pressure. Even within a single minute, slightly difficult questions can spark that satisfying sense of challenge and determination.

What it does

Genius Game gives a user 60 seconds to clear a ladder of logic questions that start easy and climb to hard. If you miss one, you get a concise walkthrough explaining the slip‑up, so every round becomes a quick lesson.

How we built it

  • Drafted a lean PRD with an LLM.
  • Prototyped the UI and core timer loop in Bolt.new.
  • Generated puzzles with a mix of AI tools and manual vetting.
  • Integrated a live leaderboard via the Supabase plugin in Bolt.

Challenges we ran into

Tuning difficulty turned out harder than the coding itself. Early AI‑generated questions looked fine but hid logical gaps, so we cross‑checked them with other models—and with human review—until every puzzle held up.

Accomplishments we’re proud of

Although we haven’t launched publicly yet, early testers call the game “weirdly addictive” and keep retrying to beat their best time.

What we learned

  • Practical methods for refining AI‑generated UIs.
  • The value of using multiple models to sanity‑check puzzle logic.
  • How even a simple ranking board, powered by Supabase, can boost player motivation.

What’s next for Genius Game

I plan to expand the puzzle pool with new patterns, introduce light ad‑based monetization, and ship native builds. React Native already positions us for both Android and iOS releases.
