Inspiration

The world is drowning in noise—random pitch decks, YouTube investor interviews, random LinkedIn shoutouts for AI talent, Skool communities with no filtering. I looked for a place with a strong container to pitch my ideas. Something structured that is about serious social, cultural impact. Where serious investors might be. While LinkedIn scraping is a good start, the random inefficiency it was hard to find investors who actually fund their type of work. So I began brainstorming about if I could create a platform in Bolt that solves this issue.

What it does

A deep-tagging machine learning system analyzes goals, regions, domains, and interests to deliver precise, human-centered matches—complete with transparent match scores and translation for true global accessibility.

-Connects mission-driven software developers with impact investors -Uses gated onboarding with legal agreements and credit purchases -Features 2-minute video introductions for authentic connections -Employs AI-powered matching with transparent compatibility scores -Supports global users with translation capabilities

Once a match is made, participants take the conversation offline to close deals on their own terms. Genius Fund isn’t another noisy social network. It’s a serious, beautifully designed, ethical deal-prep layer that respects time, trust, and the urgency of funding solutions that matter. Genius meets funding—minus the chaos.

How I built it

Bolt.new

Challenges we ran into

Implementation gaps. Chat didn't work and video didn't upload. I like to see what breaks in the prototype phase. There were less issues than I though there would out of the gate. The fixes: Simple browse button for the file input, look in the code for a missing database field and storage bucket for uploaded videos. Or for a simple fix, YouTube links for now. For the chat issue, one simple form or a Supabase realtime implementation. Also in the test phase the ML tagging precision will require intensive testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Created a complete user journey from landing to dashboard -Implemented dual user types (coders/investors) with different onboarding flows -Built a professional, production-ready interface -Designed complex state management for multi-step processes

Out of the gate it worked. I was able to move through the flows on both sides. The placeholder prototype scenes were strong. And I love this idea.

What we learned

I already have something I can demo. Looking forward to implementing structured data, video links, a matching engine, learning more about Supabase and how to work with Bolt as I enter the refinement and testing phase. MVP is stronger than I imagined.

What's next for Genius Fund

Prioritize: Is video upload MVP-critical, or can I mock it? Decide on link vs. real upload for now Replace chat with simple contact info exchange if needed Write down my Layer 2 goals in detail and strategize
