Inspiration
Genius AI was born out of pure inspiration from ChatGPT. As passionate learners with no budget and no coding background, we dared to dream of building something impactful. We were amazed at what AI could do and wanted to bring that power—even in the smallest way—to students and learners who don’t have access to premium tools.
What it does
Genius AI is a basic AI assistant designed to answer study-related questions. While it's far from perfect, it acts as a simple companion for students needing help with basic knowledge. It's not as powerful as the big models—but it’s a start, a first step toward something greater.
How we built it
We built Genius AI using the free plan of Lovable.ai, which offered us just 30 credits a month. With no access to advanced APIs or big infrastructure, every answer felt like a victory. We relied on creativity, persistence, and late nights learning how to make the most of limited tools.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge? Limitations everywhere—technical, financial, and emotional. We couldn’t build an advanced AI like ChatGPT. We lacked funding, deep knowledge, and sometimes even hope. The model still fails to answer many questions—but that doesn’t stop us from trying.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We didn’t win the hackathon. Our AI is still basic—maybe even simpler than what a 10-year-old could imagine. But we’re proud we built something from nothing. We started with zero—and created a working, learning AI assistant. And we did it with no money, no support, and no guarantees.
What we learned
We learned that building something is better than building nothing. We learned that failure is part of the process. And most importantly, we learned that you don’t need to be a genius to build Genius AI—you just need heart, vision, and relentless grit.
What's next for Genius AI
We know it’s not good enough—yet. But we’re not done. We’ll keep improving, slowly but surely. We’ll seek collaborations, better tools, and maybe even funding. Genius AI may have started with limits, but its future has none.
