Utilizing patient and geospatial data, GENHeart helps providers determine patient populations in need for genetic testing for cost-effective management of inheritable heart diseases.

Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide, costing astronomical amounts every year. Genetic testing can help with more cost-effective management with better preventive efforts.

What it does

Predicts patient populations in need for genetic testing for inheritable heart diseases

How we built it

We used sklearn to train our machine learning model based on public and synthetic datasets. The resulting model was deployed using Flask and Bootstrap.

What's next for GENHeart

  • improves performance of the model
  • utilizes real-world data! we were also thinking to make this tool for people to contribute and participate in further study of effectiveness of geospatial and genetics data for improving care
