Inspiration

Every choice that we make makes several futures possible. Be it a career change, education, moving to another country, or creating a business, most often there is no one way of doing things right. But modern-day assistants offer only one option and demand that we trust their judgment. This thought occurred to me and inspired an idea. What if AI didn't offer us answers to our questions? What if it helped us make sense of all the information instead? And thus, Genesis was born. Genesis creates an interactive universe of reasoning from complicated choices where users can play through different options and consider all pros and cons of each path.

What it does

Genesis simplifies the entire process by transforming difficult choices into the Reasoning Universe interface that allows users to discover many options instead of one solution provided by the computerized system. Based on the information about the user's goals and constraints and his/her assumptions, Genesis creates different paths of reasoning, each one with its own potential and trade-offs and confidence level.

How I built it

Next, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, React Flow, and shadcn/ui are some of the technologies that were utilized in building Genesis. I used Codex during development as an AI coding companion to expedite development processes, fine-tune the UI/UX, troubleshoot bugs, and iterate on our ideas at an incredible speed. Rather than just writing the code, Codex assisted us in trying out new patterns of interactions.

Challenges I ran into

The main problem was to create an interaction flow that would feel totally different from any usual chatbot. A significant amount of time was devoted to experimenting with visual representation of AI reasoning in an engaging, interactive manner without being overly complex. The hardest task technologically was to make sure that all animations, performance of graphs, and usability worked together well.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

My proudest achievement in creating our product is that I have managed to create an interface that represents an entirely new approach to dealing with AI. Genesis does not give you just one solution to a problem but turns the whole decision-making process into an interactive reasoning universe, which you can navigate through. I am also very proud of having created a sleek and immersive experience.

What I learned

I have learned from this project that exceptional AI products are not only based on highly powerful models; rather, they focus on creating improved user experiences as well. Visualization, interaction design, and sound reasoning play a crucial role while assisting people in making difficult decisions. Collaboration with Codex has taught us that the use of AI is highly beneficial for developers as it helps speed up development processes.

What's next for Genesis

This is only a start to Genesis. My aim is to turn Genesis into a persistent decision intelligence platform, whereby futures will be allowed to evolve and develop in response to new information. Future generations will feature a memory-enabled history of decision making, multiagent reasoning, collaborative decision space, real-time information integration, and AI-based observers which will constantly compare evolving futures.
