Generating Melodies With Magenta Machine Learning

Inspiration

This was a challenge for the MLH 2021 (Local Hack Day). The goal was to create music using an AI or Machine Learning approach.

What it does

It uses an amazing OpenSource project called "Magenta" to generate a series of "Musical Instrument Digital Interface" (.mid) files with a Machine Learning approach. The purpose is to be able to create music for future playing in digital synthesizers.

How I built it

I didn't built it. I learned how to use the packages, the main files and tried to build a general-understanding of how everything "works".

Challenges I ran into

Using both amazing disciplines (Music and Programming) in a same project.

What I learned

There are amazing music-related projects that can be created thanks to Machine Learning, Math and Programming.

What's next for Generating Melodies With Magenta Machine Learning

Trying to build a similar project, but from Scratch and a lot of patience.
