Inspiration: This project was inspired by the lack of awareness about Thalassemia in many communities, especially in rural and underdeveloped areas. I’ve seen families affected by this preventable disorder simply because they didn’t know they were carriers. That motivated me to use biotechnology and digital tools to make awareness and screening more accessible.

What I Learned: I learned how to simplify complex medical information using visuals, videos, and tech-based tools that the general public can easily understand. I also understood the value of combining biology with technology for real-world impact.

How I Built It: I created visual content ( video), proposed mobile/web tools for risk quizzes, and designed awareness campaigns targeting youth and couples. The goal was to create an all-in-one awareness and screening solution.

Challenges: The biggest challenge was designing tools that are both medically accurate and easy to use for non-experts. Making the content culturally sensitive and accessible in low-resource settings was also a key focus.
