Inspiration

My inspiration for the Gendformation project was the theme provided during the hackathon (Gender equity and inclusion) alongside my position in the tech community.

What it does

My Gendformation webpage informs and educates others on gender equity and inclusion. It also provides additional resources to educate oneself about these topics some more, and a comment section for people to communicate and collaborate regarding this concept.

How we built it

After much planning and designing, the webpage was built on visual studio code and used Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JSON and JQuery. Also, research on gender equity and inclusion was done thoroughly prior to coding.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge I ran into was the comments section of the webpage because the comments were not saving on the website. It was also challenging to do the entire project over such a little timespan, as this was my first hackathon, and I am usually given more time to do my coding assignments.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud about how the webpage looks as I am not very good at designing. I am also proud of what I have accomplished generally within this short time frame as well.

What we learned

I learned that the designing phase is very crucial when it comes to web development as it is much easier to know where the textboxes, images and buttons go on the webpage beforehand (instead of causing confusion).

What's next for Gendformation- Hack'n Jill

With time I hope to add more features to the webpage. Maybe adding more buttons with information, or perhaps a mini quiz to test user understanding after reading the webpage.
