The theme of VioletHacks
What it does
It's an article (of sorts) that is driven by data science. It aims to raise awareness of the problems women face in the workplace.
How we built it
We built on GColabs using python libraries like sklearn, matplotlib and so on
Challenges we ran into
We hoped to build an "inclusivity index" - a simple linear regression model that could determine whether a workplace was inclusive based on the ratio between the average weekly salary of men to women, but our inexperience combined with the time constraints vetoed the same
What's next for Gender Inequality in Workplaces
- Working on the "inclusivity" index
- Using pictures and visualizations for better understanding
- Adding resources for further reading
