Inspiration
I volunteer as a care deacon at church, where I visit senior citizens in their houses or senior living facilities and spend time with them. During these interactions, I have realized the importance of companionship as well as the effect of technology on their lives. In this Artificial Intelligence era, Generative AI can play a significant role in improving our personal and professional lives.
What it does
The 'Virtual Gerontologist' app is a humble attempt to repay those seniors, who have helped a lot in easing our current lives. This app has the following features

- Text to Audio Conversion
- Audio to Text Conversion
- Image Recognition
How we built it
I have built this app using Microsoft Azure AI and Azure OpenAI services. Following were the major services used

- Speech Service
- Computer Vision

Challenges we ran into
- Learning Microsoft Azure, Azure AI and Azure Open AI fundamentals and usage
- Coming up with project idea
- Identifying relevant project use cases
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- I am extremely proud that I could learn and code using Azure AI services.
- I am glad I could use the learning to come up with something that can be of use to seniors.
