✨ Inspiration
Having worked extensively in the coda space as a freelancer, I was recently tasked by a client to create a document analysis tool, sparking the idea for Gems. Leveraging the Gemini API, Gems simplifies document analysis and summarization within coda docs.
🚀 What it does
Gems offers a wide range of applications, enabling users to harness the power of Gemini models (such as Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini Pro Vision) for tasks like text generation, OCR, document summarization, and even code generation. With Gems, the possibilities are limitless, all without needing to code.
🛠️ How we built it
Built using the coda pack CLI in TypeScript, Gems comprises 5 formulas covering various Gemini beta functions. Each formula seamlessly communicates with Gemini endpoints, retrieving and processing results effortlessly.
⚙️ Challenges we ran into
Integrating coda authentication with Gemini proved challenging initially. However, after consulting with the coda team, we successfully configured the native coda authentication workflow to function as intended.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in creating the first coda pack that encompasses pretty much all Gemini functionalities, offering users a comprehensive and efficient document analysis solution.
📚 What we learned
Exploring Gemini's capabilities revealed its potential to address a wide range of business challenges across different applications. Utilizing Gems can significantly streamline workflow processes.
🔮 What's next for Gems
Continuously expanding our pack formulas and exploring new Gemini models to further enhance Gems' functionality and versatility.
