Inspiration
I was brainstorming with a friend of mine when I came onto the idea. It would be a fun experiment and a good use of the Gemini API.
What it does
It let's you create, iterate on and publish any games on the app. It uses the Gemini API to create or iterate on the games.
How I/we built it
It was built using Roo Code and the following: HTML CSS JS NODE (snacks)
Challenges I/we ran into
Gemini 2.5 Pro is good at coding, if you know how to prompt it. (I didn't) So, it eventually was 6+ hours of back and forth, this isn't working, that is not working. But eventually, I knew how to prompt the AI and everything started working.
Accomplishments that I/we were proud of
- A working app
- It looks good
- The Gemini API integrated flawlessly
What I/we learned
If you don't know to prompt Gemini, take some time to get to know the model.
What's next for Gemini Game Hub
Nothing really. But maybe I will revise the way how game code is stored. Now it's all in one giant, unformatted .json file.
