Checks facts using GEMINI AI model 2.0 Flash
How we built it
Using Arduino IDE, having help from Gemini AI with the code, using C++, using built-in libraries for M5StickCPlus, using Wi-fi.
Challenges we ran into
Memory limitations and sending audio files of speech to an API that converts the audio into text. In its place a faker sendAudioToApi method was put in place that sends if the sun is a star as the results of the converted audio to text.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The color changing of the OLED screen, the use of Gemini AI, the ability to work seamlessly with strangers that are from different fields of engineering (software, mechatronics, robotics)
What we learned
We need to research more in depth when it comes to physical limits of the hardware.
What's next for Gemini Fact Checker
Implementing the sendAudioToApi method and making the product smaller and the size and look of a badge that will be then commercialised and used by everyone across the globe to fight misinformation and liars.
