Our team is purely consists of geeks and gigs :-). There are 5 of us and we are spread all over the world. We have always been working as self-employed people and worked with the same league. GeekPay idea was inspired by the new reality of working people, spread all over the world and getting paid from different world locations. Due to financial instability in the world, cryptocurrencies and DiFi helped us a lot in cross-border payments. However, our team faced with a lot of challenges while making transactions. By utilizing the XRP Ledger and potential integration with Ripple's CBDC platform, our platform will allow even more people to get onboarded into web3.
What it does
GeekPay platform organizes and secures payments to gig workers on different blockchains.
How we built it
We started with one blockchain NEAR to validate the idea of the product. We received our first customers and decided to expand to other blockchains. Now, GeekPay is available on Ethereum, Binance Chain, Tron, Polygon. XRPL will be our next!
Challenges we ran into
Every new technology was different, and we have to overcome the challenges of the development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our platform was released in January 2023 and in July 2023 it hits $ 0.6 MLN accumulated turnover with 15% growth rate MoM
What we learned
While building the product we learned: - pain points that our customers are facing while working with digital currencies; - we see the expansion of different blockchains; - every technology has certain list of peculiarities that we have to overcome to publish GeekPay service on the new chain.
What's next for GeekPay
We working on enabling GeekPay on XRPL and allow CBDC payments to go through. We also want to add extra services to be purchased via digital currencies at GeekPay platform
