With a community of verified medical professionals, Medihub offers a reliable space where experts can share their knowledge and opinions. What it does

Medihub ensures that users can access a wealth of vetted medical knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions about their health. Whether it's seeking guidance on specific health concerns, understanding complex medical topics, or participating in live Q&A sessions, Medihub offers a comprehensive range of resources tailored to meet the diverse needs of its users.

How we built it

  • MediHub is a web application built using the MERN stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS, NodeJS)
  • Identity Access Management (IAM) is managed by Pangea AuthN
  • All application and server secrets are managed by Pangea Vault
  • Pangea Redact is used to ensure no platform content or interactions contain vulgarity or personal information

Challenges we ran into

  • As a social media application, the possibilities for feature development seemed limitless. I faced the challenge of selecting and refining features, which led to some aspects feeling incomplete.
  • I would like to suggest enhancing the Pangea documentation by providing more comprehensive usage examples and code references. This improvement would greatly benefit developers and reduce development time by providing clear guidance and facilitating easier implementation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

MediHub is a comprehensive application that serves as a trusted source of verified medical information. Despite the time constraints of the hackathon, I have worked diligently to develop a feature-packed platform. I am proud of my achievements so far and am excited to continue improving and expanding MediHub in the future.

What's next for MediHub

MediHub holds immense promise not only as a reliable healthcare information platform but also as a valuable resource for developers. There are numerous untapped security features in Pangea that could have been seamlessly integrated into MediHub. For instance, the signup process for new medical experts could have included the functionality for existing users to invite their peers. Additionally, leveraging AI capabilities within the application could enhance user experience by providing personalized content recommendations based on various filterable factors, including sentiment. These enhancements would further elevate the platform's potential and value.
