Inspiration
When studying for my own GCSEs, after reading and making notes from my CGP guide, I would often sit with my parents who would read out their own questions from the modules I had just studied for me to answer. Making notes was a good way to revise and pick out important information from the chapter, but I was only really confident on a chapter once I could answer any and all questions my parents could throw at me. Of course, my parents were often busy, so asking them to question me was not always an option.
I saw the opportunity to create a revision app with Alexa, to copy the way I enjoyed revising most. It could be done for any amount of time and at any time, allowing the user to slot in a bit of revision at any time and for any amount of time, and keep track of their scores over time whilst doing so. We created the app, and wrote nearly 4000 questions spanning over the three major exam boards.
What it does
The app allows the user to choose an exam board, science module (Chemistry, Biology or Physics) and then a topic in that module (e.g. Space in the Physics module). They are then given a ten question multiple choice test, where they are asked a question and given two to four possible responses. At the end of the test, they are given their score, and the option to take another test.
