Inspiration
As an over-excited plant parent, I want myself and others like me to be able to provide the best care for our plants. I hence created GroBot, an AI assistant that helps users take care of their plants.
What it does
GroBot is a chatbot that is also an advanced plant caretaker! It also has a disease detection feature that can help users identify any diseases their plant might have, and suggests treatments for the same.
How we built it
I used several kinds of software such as Postman, GitHub, VSCode, as well as programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge I faced was integrating all the different features with my UI. A big thank you to Paul from MLH for helping me during the entire progress, from creating my domain to debugging constantly. A big thank you also to Shailynn from HRB.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am weirdly proud of the logo. But jokes aside, this was my first time using Postman, Adobe Express, Auth0, and coding in JavaScript! I am proud of myself for coming up with a project that forced me out of my comfort zone.
What we learned
As mentioned, I had to learn most of the tools I was using right before trying to use them!
What's next for GroBot
I plan on implementing GroBot as a mobile application, and adding some specific features to it that may better fit the use case.
