Inspiration
I`ve got the idea from computer graphics - image processing, so with that in mind why not translate it to other industries softwares / packages, more specific 3d packages...
What it does
It`s mapping the input values accordingly to the function, giving it a low output on the margins and an acceleration towards the middle, both of those which can be controlled from the function itself, this can be useful in some specific scenarios of rigging for different assets, if you want to see it in action go here: link

What I learned
A little bit more about the general usage of a mathematical function, but the most important like Arthur T. Benjamin (mathematician) said: "maths it is not all about solving of x, but more important why?"
What's next for Gaussian Distribution and Maya-API - Build the Node
Integrate more functions in the maya native node-based system, that should be easy from now on for me...
