Inspiration:

After participating quite a lot of school competitions, I realized our school always lacked at science and technology projects. So I started to record a yearly inspection on why we kept losing, and after months of inspection I realized it was because student are short in material when the competition starts. A lot of participants also don’t have a plan sorted out for their projects. Student-Teacher interaction was also limited due to lack of communication. I created Gatherly to solve these problems in particular. From competition preparation, to giving ideas to students, gatherly sort all schedules and materials to provide students with efficient resource. It also give them a space to create projects from thrown materials expanding their creativity.

Function: Gatherly is a website designed to support students and teachers throughout the school competition process. • Shared materials inventory: Students and teachers can share useful materials they find inside or outside the school and organize them for future projects. • Past project library: Users can explore previous competition projects, including both winning and unsuccessful entries, to learn from their approaches, strengths, and mistakes. • Project inspiration: A navigation feature helps users discover ideas and examples from their school, regional competitions, and a wider global community. • Project ratings and selection: Students can contribute ideas and work, while teachers can evaluate submissions and help select a final project. • Competition calendar: A calendar helps users track upcoming competitions and plan their preparation in advance.

Aim: Gatherly aims to reduce last-minute preparation, encourage the reuse of useful materials, promote cleaner school environments, and help students develop stronger competition projects through collaboration and learning from past experiences.

Challenges: Collecting tools from ground and using them to make projects took a lot of time. Getting students to start early was one of the problem I encountered as well.

Achievement I am proud of: Although it isn’t still lacking in many aspects, I’m happy that our school finally could use this to win upcoming competition and get a medal

Materials: I used Claude to help develop the website. The project brings together material organization, project inspiration, project evaluation, and competition scheduling in a single platform.

Future Improvements: Future development could include notifications for upcoming deadlines, search and filtering for materials, project progress tracking, and a way to measure how much time and material waste Gatherly helps schools save.
