Inspiration

We've skipped events ourselves because getting there was expensive and showing up alone wasn't appealing. We wanted to make saying “yes” to more college experiences easier.

What it does

GatherGo brings event discovery and carpooling together, helping students find events, connect with others attending, and share rides to get there.

How we built it

We built a web application with student accounts, event listings, and driver-rider matching. Our focus was connecting event participation with practical transportation options.

Challenges we ran into

We worked to make ride matching useful beyond simply sharing a destination, considering pickup locations, route compatibility, and the experience for both drivers and riders.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We turned a familiar student problem into a working concept that combines event participation, affordable transportation, and social discovery in one platform.

What we learned

We learned that small barriers, like transportation costs or not knowing anyone attending, can keep students from opportunities they'd otherwise enjoy.

What's next for GatherGo

We plan to strengthen route-based matching, expand event discovery, add more safety features, and bring GatherGo to campuses beyond OU.
