Gather Quest

Inspiration

The inspiration comes when I search for images of chili pepper, but It's hard to find the images. I realize that it's hard to find real life images, be it chili pepper or other things. Since nowadays images can be taken using smartphone, anywhere, I think it's worth a try to crowdsource image gathering in a platform. and voila, Gatherquest.vision idea is born.

What it does

Gatherquest is a platform to make campaign (or a quest) to search for specific in real life images. And the contributors can upload images taken by them. The campaign owner then review the submissions and choose relevant images.

How we built it

For this challenge I want it to be fully built using bolt.new

Challenges we ran into

I have issues when i try to connect bolt.new project to supabase, and adding authentication. And i find it hard to make it behave as i want to especially when it comes to the backend.

I am proud that i can submit this prototype

What we learned

I learned that generative AI have come to the point of threatening my job as a programmer haha. But it takes serious skill to use it effectively and I think it's worth it to delve deep into learning how to prompt.

What's next for Gather Quest

This prototype is nowhere near what I envisioned of gatherquest.vision. I want to keep improving it. The most challanging problem is how to properly monetize this. because crowdsourcing images takes a lot of space in storage.
