Inspiration

While hunting for airdrops, I realized that everywhere you need to have native tokens to interact with blockchains. How would it be if there's a platform that could enable you to "Go gasfree" with just a click.

What it does

Enables you to pay gas fees in any ERC-20 tokens of your choice on any platform that you want to interact with.

How we built it

We build a chrome extension that plugs in our smart contract and pays gas fees in native token for you while collecting the equivalent amount of ERC-20 token from you in the transaction.

Challenges we ran into

1 - Building scalable and efficient smart contract that enhances user experience of paying gas fees. 2 - Asking lot of users in NFT, trading space and finding the pain point while paying gas fees in native tokens. 3 - testing the product out with international customers was a big headache due to time zone problems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Rolling out the version 1 of the product in just a week's time with having no prior knowledge of working with smart contracts.

What we learned

1 - We rolled out our product in polygon but it turned out that due to low gas fees people recharged with 50$ of matic and use this for a long time so our product did not make sense in polygon space.

2 - We talked to people in NFT space and found the real use case there wherein people have to get eth from somewhere to mint or trade NFTs.

3 - Lot of people using onramp was due the fact that they wanted eth which came out to be another use case

What's next for Gasly

We are building the product on our major use cases as mentioned above and will let the users try this in the upcoming months
