Inspiration
It's always a guessing game to figure out how much a friend owes you for driving them around. That, plus out of curiosity it'd be nice to estimate how much every trip costs in gas!
What it does
Automatically calculates the amount of money spent on gas during a trip. Gets the average gas price in the area, gets data from the user's phone for how many miles traveled, time elapsed, and average MPH. The user inputs their average MPG, and the app automatically calculates the price of the trip.
How I built it
Downloaded Android Studio and its SDK's to learn how to use it. Created a "Hello World" application, then turned it into this app.
Challenges I ran into
Downloading Android Studio... Also downloading required drivers for my phone to be able to run projects on it.
What's next for Gas Cost Estimator
Hopefully publishing it on the app store one day!
