Inspiration

There are lots of people who can make great handcrafted products and accessories. Even though they have great business potential due to their products uniqueness, many artisan and crafters, especially the locals, are rarely able to flourish. That is why we wish to give them space to sell their products, promote, and communicate with other artisan in a supportive community through the website that we made.

What it does

Our website consists of 3 main functions: e-commerce, communities, and learning from courses. All to empower small business enterprises in developing their own brands and enhancing products. With an excellent e-commerce service and opportunity to develop their products, we believe that every artisan has an equal chance to gain greater recognition from the public.

How we built it

We built our website using the ReactJS Framework so that all of our team members can work on it. Due to the limited time we didn’t really add anything fancy to our code. Also, we use some free assets placeholders for pictures in our website prototype to save time, so we can focus most of our time and energy to develop the website as functional as possible

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a lot of challenges. The most difficult was probably the brainstorming session. We had to think of an original idea that suits GarudaHack track’s guideline, still doable within the limited amount of time and our skill level.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In a short period of time, we were able to think and develop a program that we believe might be useful and valuable for the public. We realised that small businesses are having limited access for the growth of their product and to train themself, so through this platform, we can help small businesses to grow better than before and gain a good recognition. We are delighted to contribute to solving one of the public's biggest problems. We believe that the solution we offer (by creating communities and holding free courses) can help the nation to improve the quality of the public’s skill.

What we learned

We learned that it is very hard to try to accomplish so much in such a short period of time. That is why it’s important to be prepared beforehand, to be realistic, and to know your own capabilities without getting ahead of yourself with planning big projects.

What's next for Artisanship

We hope through this project, we will be able to expand our community and widen our reach nationwide, and hopefully one day connect artisans and crafters all around the world.
