Inspiration
We love growing our gardens and would like to use technology to make garden caring easier.
What it does
Garden Rescue uses machine learning to tell the user if the plants in their garden are healthy, diseased, bug-eaten, or just dehydrated. Garden Rescue also gives information to the user on how to take care of their plant after it has been diagnosed, such as giving it more water if dehydrated.
How we built it
We used Google Teachable Machine, XCode, Figma, and a Tensorflow Image Classification Sample.
Challenges we ran into
We tried to get our project working with Android Studio but it was difficult and we were unable to, so we used XCode on iOS instead.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to complete our project, even though we had difficulties.
What we learned
We learned how to use Google Teachable Machine, how to train and deploy image classification models, how to outsource code for projects, how to upload projects to github, and how to storyboard for android and ios apps.
What's next for Garden Rescue
Adding augmented reality (AR) so the app can show the user what is wrong with their plant in AR.
