AI Trash Helper

Inspiration

During this event, I was not able to identify, which trash bin is for what and, I just threw it in the wrong bin most probably. So that made me think that even after completeing high school education, I am still struggling with finding what correct bin for the trash.

What it does

It uses a camera, and the machine learning model which i created, to identify the trash and suggest whether it is recycable, bio-degradable or landfill. Which helps in making a decision about where the trash belongs and also educates individual who are not aware of it.

How we built it

I made the machine learning model, with the help of google's teachable machine and loaded various data to identify the trash, and then tried to make a working website with the react. However, due to time constrain, I changed and made the outline of the website (prototype).

Challenges we ran into

No one wanted to join my team as i was only proficent in C++. I got stuck on react and also got stuck on jupytor. had to learn machine learning and react.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

made a machine learning model, used figma to create prototype, submitting the project, Completeing my first hackathon.

What we learned

how machine learning works and how a model is created, learnt react, cloud coumpution, cyber security, made good connections with new people.

What's next for AI Trash Helper

the next thing is to complete and implement it in my university and also take it further by making himself sort the waste automatically. give verbal feedbacks and motivate others by showing kind gesture. identify multiple thing at a time.
