GAPS: GPS Awareness and Prediction System

How valuable would it be to know where the cars around you are trying to go, and how the cars ahead of you are faring in their efforts? With GAPS, all this and more is possible. By equipping cars with GAPS, each will be able to communicate its GPS-suggested turns and routes to all the cars in its vicinity, and then organize them for the greatest efficiency on the highway. The vision of small car computers acting as cells in a larger, emergent network also allows for pertinent traffic and warning data to be transmitted long distances, turning our highway system into a cloud computer.
