Inspiration
Gamika was born from my greatest source of inspiration: my two children, both with autism and developmental delays. Watching how they interact with the world motivated me to create a space where learning feels safe, joyful, and respectful of their unique ways of processing information. This project is my way of building a more empathetic world—one where every child, regardless of how they learn, feels seen, heard, and celebrated.
What it does
Gamika is an inclusive learning app designed for children with disabilities. It features an interactive chatbot that provides emotional support and guided learning. The app includes modules in math, language, science, physical activity (gym), sign language, and Braille. It's tailored for short attention spans and uses visual, playful, and consistent strategies to support learning in a fun and meaningful way.
How we built it
Gamika was built entirely using Bolt.new. The interface was designed to be clean, accessible, and engaging for neurodiverse children. All educational content, chatbot logic, and interactions were developed within the Bolt environment, ensuring a smooth and integrated user experience.
Challenges we ran into
I participated in the Deploy Challenge using Netlify to bring Gamika to the public. Deploying a Bolt.new-based app externally required figuring out how to properly package the project and configure deployment for a smooth, fast, and accessible user experience. While Bolt simplifies the development process, deploying it at scale still required testing and attention to detail to ensure all features including the chatbot ,worked as expected after going live.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating an inclusive app in a short time frame—especially the chatbot that offers real emotional support. Most of all, we are proud of honoring a mission that impacts many families and building a space where learning feels supportive and empowering.
What we learned
We learned that accessibility is not a feature—it is a mindset and a commitment. We saw firsthand how emotional presence and inclusive design can transform digital learning. Most importantly, we learned that designing for inclusion results in better, more human-centered experiences for everyone.
What's next for Gamika
Gamika is just getting started. Our future plans include:
- Adding a progress tracking system for parents and teachers
- Expanding content with more sensory-friendly activities
- Partnering with educational and therapeutic organizations
