Gamifying Social Good

dApp where users can purchase NFTs for a social cause. In order to hold ownership, they must donate to the organizations that they are affiliated with. The NFT function as a badge of the user's causes

Inspiration

We were inspired by the dApp Wildcards which sells NFTs of different animals to raise money for conservation. Our project builds on this idea to provide a platform for users to buy NFTs that support a variety of social causes.

What it does

The dApp offers a marketplace to purchase different NFTs that are affiliated with charitable organizations. Since the transactions are carried out on Block Chain, they are completely transparent and provide accountability for the donations. The leaderboard of top donors gives users incentive to donate more and each NFT can be used as like a badge to represent the causes that the user is passionate about.

How we built it

We used HTML and JavaScript to build the front end of the application, and CSS for styling. We used the platform Moralis.

Challenges we ran into

The tutorial that we used to connect the front end to the smart contracts was out of date, and we had to refer back to the documentation, which made things a little confusing.
