Inspiration

The inspiration for GamETHa came from the widespread distrust of traditional centralized gaming platforms, where moderation and earnings are often controlled by admins. We observed a significant gap in the market for a decentralized platform that allows players to earn while they play, with full transparency and trust. The concept was further fueled by the potential of Web 3.0 technologies and the need for a platform where developers could also earn while sharing their games.

What it does

GamETHa is a decentralized gaming platform powered by Web 3.0. It allows developers to upload both single-player and multiplayer games, and users can buy, play, and stream these games. Leveraging Theta Edge Cloud for decentralized video hosting and streaming, GamETHa offers a seamless and secure gaming experience. Users can also generate unique game profile pictures using the Stability Diffusion model and earn frames in games to showcase on their profiles.

How we built it

We built GamETHa using a combination of Web 3.0 technologies and decentralized services. The backbone of our platform is the Theta Edge Cloud, which enables decentralized video hosting and streaming. For game profile pictures, we integrated the Stability Diffusion model. The development process involved creating smart contracts for secure transactions and using OBS for live streaming gameplay. Our frontend was developed using modern web technologies, ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience.

Challenges we ran into

Building GamETHa was not without its challenges. Integrating Web 3.0 technologies with traditional gaming mechanics required a steep learning curve. Ensuring seamless decentralized streaming with Theta Edge Cloud and OBS presented technical difficulties. Additionally, incorporating AI-generated commentary and Stability Diffusion for profile pictures added layers of complexity. Overcoming these challenges required extensive research, testing, and collaboration.
