Inspiration
I wanted to have fun playing with the raspberry Pi. Once I was done with my experiments with the Pi and I was returning it, My friend who was a volunteer asked me if I wanted to try using the Adruino Leonardo. Of course I was curious, so i gave it a shot.
What it does
My project displays 2 lines of 16 characters(including spaces) each on an LCD display.
How I built it
I used the materials provided to me at Hack UMBC to put this together.
Challenges I ran into
At first instead of printing the desired sentences the screen would just print blocks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I actually am learning new concepts
What we learned
A few lines of basic code, how to wire the Arduino, how to upload code into the Arduino, what are the uses for some of the ports/"pins" of the Arduino, etc.
What's next for Arduino
Next I would try to add a button that would change the text on the screen every time that it is pressed.
