Inspiration
Video games are universally loved, which is why we set out to create a web site that allows users to access their favorite classics seamlessly.
What it does
Game hub acts as a connector to from some of our favorite classic games that we created. It's intuitive interface guarantees that users get to the games they want without any hassle.
How we built it
We started with brainstorming website ideas by concentrating on our shared interests eventually settling on gaming. Once we had the concept of Game Hub we began with creating the games. The games we chose were picked with the rationale that we wanted them to be instantly recognizable, as well as fun and engaging.
While developing the games we simultaneously began work on the website's UI. Using HTML we created a interface that allowed users to move to and from their games and the dashboard. Once we completed our basic product we polished it up and tested it for bugs and errors.
After our product was complete we reached out to others to get their input on our design, further refining using their comments.
Challenges we ran into
Going into the project we all coded in different languages. This made coming up with a project in the first place difficult as we wanted to utilize all our skills. In the end we were able to pull this off with a bit of creativity.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
For the first few hours we were unsure as to whether we would be able to pull together a finished project. We all coded in different languages which made coming up with a product that could put all of those skills to use proved to be difficult. Game Hub however, allowed us to combine our UI skills and game development skills to make a cohesive product.
What we learned
We learned the importance of thorough prior planning, we stumbled across multiple challenges over the course of the project that we hadn't foreseen.
What's next for Game Hub
The great thing about game hub is that it's ever growing. New games can constantly be added which keeps the catalogue fresh and interesting. We also have plans on expanding the website to include more interactive features for users.
