Inspired by Soul Knight and The Binding of Isaac, our game is a top-down 2D roguelike about math where players clear rooms, defeat enemies, and collect upgrades by answering questions. We built it in Unity using tilemaps, a room-and-gate system, and a stat-based upgrade system, while overcoming challenges with collaboration into the unity collab, debugging (We spent 5h on one part of the system), and connecting different gameplay systems. We’re proud of creating a functional game loop and meaningful theme, and we learned how to structure game systems and work as a team; next, we plan to add more items, enemies, bosses, and polish to improve the overall experience. We have started but decided to improve our demo first.
