GambleGuard Homescreen interface

Inspiration

What inspired us was seeing the people around us personally get sucked into the life of being a daily gambler. We ourselves have had moments where we've gotten sucked into online sports betting but were lucky enough to have realized the problem in front of us and stop before it became too big of an issue. We believe with the increasing usage and normalization of online gambling, that a better help option besides the not so useful phone number is needed.

What it does

What our project does is prevent users from using gambling apps on their phones and from using gambling websites on their desktops. It offers therapy usage for people that need it as well as giving the user incentives to continue not gambling by showing how much money they're saving.

How we built it

We created our project through intense research on the topic as well as the use of A.I such as Grok and Deepsite to help create an image of what we want our app to look like.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into mainly pertained to the research aspect of the project. Finding up to date information and data that correlated with our project was tough. Since online gambling is a relatively new thing, there isn't much data that talks about online gambling specifically.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the demo of the app that we made. With the use of A.I and some messing around with the answers that it would offer, I believe we ended up getting a product that matched the image of the app that we want to create.

What we learned

We gained a lot of knowledge and strength in our ability to conduct in depth research on a chosen topic. Being able to come up with an idea, and use the tools at our disposal to bring our creation to life and present our new ideas was one of the many things that we learned throughout this project.

What's next for GambleGuard

We plan to go forward with our idea and try to learn simple code to recreate the interface that we created. We want to continue to build on our ever-growing skills and begin trying new things as we believe that this idea that we created is just another step in that process.
