Inspiration

We wanted to make a web app that could make studying more fun and accessible, so we looked to popular studying apps like Duolingo and Quizlet for reference on features. However, we integrated AI into our features to make the questions more catered for each student and quicker to generate questions.

What it does

Takes an input (such as notes) and the AI generates a series of relevant questions that you can be quizzed. Getting questions right rewards you with coins that can be spent on 'pets' in the in-game shop, while getting them wrong takes away your hearts. One all hearts are gone, you are unable to complete more questions and have to wait for them to regenerate. However, all wrong questions are stored to a 'graveyard' where you can redo them and getting them right rewards you with additional hearts.

How we built it

We planned the project, delegated roles and communicated progress with each other throughout.

Challenges we ran into

  • Coming up with a project idea without a theme because we thought there would be one.
  • Designing the web app since that took up a lot of time and stalled parts of development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • The plan, outline and design of the project that we added together.
  • The parallax css design to add depth to the stars and planets.

What we learned

  • A lot of our members had to learn new skills and frameworks on the fly, which helped with our ability to work under pressure.

What's next for Galileo

  • There are certain features we wanted to implement (pet shop) to expand the project
  • We might even want to properly publish the project after some polishing
