Inspiration:

The real story of a penguin that left its colony to go towards the mountains alone. ignoring anything in its path and goung straight to its certain doom. so the idea for the game was to know what probably was on its head.

What it does

Traveling and seeing the story progress. player needs to go to a light source so Bitrik, the main penguin, doesnt freeze. the game also has shifts from 2d to 2.5d mid gameplay.

How we built it

I used mainly free assets, but i used a few images, drew a few things in krita.

Challenges we ran into:

Time management, as a the only member of the team, and 3days bubget, i had to work some long hours for this demo ana sacrificing some ideas. I also struggled try to make a good post processing shader to simulate snow and blizzard. so i ended up using just a particle system and white vignette,

Accomplishments that we're proud of :

first time "finishing" a project, making clean and organized code having in mind someone other than me will be reading it.

What we learned:

Quite a few things. hackathons are fun. played around with some packages, assets and others.

What's next for Bitrik:

more story and gameplay.
