In a fast-paced city like New York, commuters and residents often keep to themselves, with interactions between strangers being a rare occurrence. Our galaxy themed website aims to encourage users across the world to spread kindness throughout cities and across communities. These small yet meaningful acts of kindness can range from holding a door for a unknown individual to feeding stray cats. on the street. Remember, kindness is contagious. Our easy to use website serves its purpose in allowing for users to track there daily acts of kindness while also offering new kindness objectives daily. We used scratch tools to build our website and coding blocks to create commands such as a flying spaceship from one planet to the next representing a new act of kindness. A challenge that our group had faced while creating our website was allowing for our "rocket variable" to transfer from one planet to the next planet in the sequence. Once we were able to successfully overcome this obstacle we continued to expand on the practicality of our website integrating unique reflection opportunities and detailed visual aids.

Our group is most proud of not only what we built today but more-so the learning opportunities that have allowed us to expand our knowledge of coding and hear first hand from experienced and successful. coders. We believe that the ability to learn something new is an invaluable gift that empowers us to grow, overcome challenges, and continuously improve, both individually and as a team.

Not only did our group expand our coding experience but we also learned executive functioning skills that where essential towards building our kindness odyssey. Our code was complex and throughout the project we encountered numerous obstacles posed that underscored the importance of attention to detail. Alongside our numerous coding errors, our group learned to employ strategic time management skills to remain focused while also taking work breaks to ensure that our projects completion was punctual. Lastly, we learned how to leverage teamwork by effectively "dividing and conquering"- in our last work hour allowing one of us to focus on refining our code while the other concentrated on completing the written description about "about the project." This division of task allowed us to work efficiently and play to our own individual strengths teaching us the value of teamwork. Ultimately, todays hackathon taught us how to balance technical challenges with practical skills while also reinforcing the importance of collaboration, time management, and adaptability in achieving a successful outcome.

Through our future hackathons and the coding challenges we will encounter, my teammate and I hope to gain a valuable skill set that includes: Understanding the task at hand, understanding, planning and executing. Accurate Planning and preparation for any given task (which involves assessing whether we will have enough time to complete everything ethically), and Executing the tasks together. Moreover, our first hackathon has taught us important lessons in collaboration and in working with others to coordinate our specific Scratch coding projects. We are also focused on achieving a satisfying goal for both of us.
