Inspiration

The idea for Galaxy Dash came from a love of fast-paced obstacle courses and vibrant sci-fi aesthetics. I was inspired by classic platformers, high-energy TV game shows like Wipeout, and other popular obstacle worlds in Horizon Worlds. I wanted to create something that felt intense, playful, and cosmic all at once—something that would keep players coming back for "just one more run."

How I Built It

This world was built using the tools in Meta Horizon Worlds, with a strong focus on gameplay logic, movement physics, and visual polish. Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor for in-world scripting, object placement, and environment logic. Blender was essential for creating custom 3D models and refining shapes that added unique details to the world. I also leveraged Unity for asset preparation and prototyping certain mechanics before implementing them in Horizon

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was balancing the difficulty. I wanted the course to be exciting and challenging without being frustrating. Timing issues with moving platforms and lasers also required several iterations and precision adjustments. Performance optimization was another focus—especially for mobile users.

Accomplishments

I’m most proud of the balance between speed, chaos, and fun. Seeing players react with excitement and determination when they finally make it through a tricky section is incredibly rewarding. Also, the overall visual theme came together even better than I imagined—giving it that classic arcade-in-space vibe.

Next Steps

I'm currently working on building more maps that are longer, more challenging, and full of unique mechanics. Each future map will bring a new twist—more traps, environmental hazards, and creative platforming setups. The ultimate goal is to grow Galaxy Dash into a full universe of obstacle worlds that evolve with the community.

Will you master the chaos and claim your title as Galaxy Champion?
