Inspiration

The inspiration for creating a fitness app comes from the growing trend of fitness and healthy living among people. As more people are becoming health-conscious, there is a need for an app that can help them achieve their fitness goals.

To build a successful fitness app, it's crucial to understand the basics of fitness and nutrition. This includes knowledge of various exercises and their impact on the body, as well as different diet plans and their benefits.

Often times, many people want to exercise but cannot find a proper plan or exercises to work with. This simple issue impeding the fitness of many can be solved with our website platform. With tailored diet plans and exercise routines fit to your goals and vitals, we can take charge of your fitness and eliminate any roadblocks to a healthy fitness life.

What it does

Our website has users sign up for a basic profile on our website platform. They follow a diagnostic form which asks about their desired fitness goals, basic vitals, desired cardio, and personal environment. Using the data, we tailor a diet plan and an exercise routine matching your answers from your diagnostic. Your plans will be displayed on your dashboard so you can track your progress in your fitness and weight goals.

How we built it

We used Replit as a collaborative environment for coding our website with languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. We also created a database for login/register features in our website.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges into almost every aspect of our website creation...something expected when we code. We ran into formatting issues, database issues, API issues, request errors, design issues, and mathematical problems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a website with features such as forms, databases, login/register, dashboard, and visually appealing graphics. We worked hard to create these features all from scratch to churn out a functioning website capable of revolutionizing the fitness world.

What we learned

HackTJ was more than just a regular event. We learned so much about using APIs and different coding techniques in the coding languages we used. Along with coding, we learned more about how databases work.

What's next for GainzTracker

We plan to add more features to make our platform the best it can be. We can perfect the website design and fix any bugs that are present. In the future, we might create an app based on our website and launch it on the App Store.

Implementing a tracking features with a graph which tracks the progress of your vitals such as weight and height. Randomizing workouts to provide more workout options to users targeting specific muscle groups. Implementing inclusive diet plans considering vegan, nut-free, and other diet restrictions
