Inspiration for Gaia

The decentralized ownership of protocols is a key innovation of crypto. However, if the economies based on these protocols rely solely on their speculative value, they cannot be healthy or sustainable in the long run. For a decentralized economy to exist, it needs users, but currently the challenge of using crypto, combined with its limited non-speculative utility poses a significant barrier to wider adoption.

What Gaia does

We want to build a suite of immersive digital experiences that seamlessly require crypto participation. By focusing on experiences, rather than technology, we can capture natural attention instead of speculation-driven interest. To bootstrap our brand, we will first target the most reliable consumers in the market, crypto-natives. Our first game, [REDACTED], is an arcade game that satirizes the Terra crash and creates an immersive experience out of the very meme culture that got crypto to hundreds of millions of users. Players will be able to buy/earn in-game assets, pay to compete for rewards, and flex their achievements and swag on the global social board.

[REDACTED] is a JavaScript web game that combines a 3D environment with a retro aesthetic to create an immersive arcade experience. By combining crypto-native meme culture with a promising sector of gaming, as stated by Tim Sweeney (CEO of Epic Games), [REDACTED] paves our entry into the metaverse with a modern yet nostalgic experience. To maximize potential players, we will focus on a multichain experience and initially release with Delphi’s shuttle for dynamic wallet configuration. Smart contracts will be used for payments and management of the game treasury so that players can pay and earn rewards in their favorite coin, all thanks to an Osmosis integration on the backend.

Team

We recently graduated college with engineering and finance degrees and have been in crypto for 2 years. Our first introduction to crypto was Terra and with more experience we became Cosmos enthusiasts. Our primary value is that decentralized crypto is a net-positive for the world and we are passionate about contributing to its survival and ensuring it thrives in the uncertain future.
