At first we were struggling to decide what to create because this was our first ever hackathon and our experiences were not as well developed as many of the people there. So we decided to implement our enjoyment of gaming into a program in which we can allow gamers all over the world to connect with each other instead of having it like other systems. We decided to publish it as a free website that contained a wide variety of games. Even with our minimal coding experience, we were able to finish this project and give a rough idea on how the code will work and how the frontend of the project will look like. Even though this project is not finished, we have a pretty good idea and template on what the future would look like. The inspiration that prompted us to try to create this website is because sometimes people do not have friends to play with during a certain time and we thought it would be a good idea to create a system allowing everyone to play with anyone at any time. This website allows people all over the world to connect with each other and matches them with the best partners of their choices. We first wrote a little bit of HTML code that showed the basic tools then we used Figma to create a general website front page and the different tools and accessibilities that could be used (other apps such as graphic editors were used). Challenges we ran into was probably based off of inexperienced coding skills and event participations which tended to slow down and limit some of the steps that other people may have been able to complete in half the time we needed. Accomplishments that we're proud of include finishing our first hackathon and creating an appealing front page of our website. We learned many valuable experiences from this hackathon and that coding is not as easy as it seems. What's next for G-Pals is to finish building the app and turn it into a full usable product people could spend time on (currently in beta; beginner).
