fyeo "For your eyes only"

Inspiration

The app is inspired by content creation, where in content creation you may expose secrets that are on your screen in the video

What it does

fyeo searches through content in a webpage and filters out information like emails, SSNs, and secret keys

How I built it

We built fyeo using svelte and wxt.dev. The replit agent helped with some of the code.

Challenges I ran into

Originally it was designed to be a mac application that screen records, and filters text in the image, but to scale down the scope of the project, we decided on a web extension.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Finishing a web extension at all 😓

What I learned

Web components are nasty and won't work in web extensions for some reason

What's next for Fyeo

Continuing the original mac application idea and expanding the brand to create new tools to protect against leaking secrets.
