Inspiration

Fyenance was inspired by the need for a secure, offline solution to personal finance management that prioritizes user privacy and control.

What it does

Fyenance offers a private and powerful desktop application that allows users to manage their finances without cloud synchronization, emphasizing data privacy and security.

How we built it

Using Electron, we developed a cross-platform desktop application compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. The frontend employs JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for a simplistic and performant user interface, while SQLite ensures efficient local data storage.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring seamless cross-platform performance while maintaining minimalism was challenging. Additionally, promoting a privacy-focused approach to users accustomed to cloud-based solutions required strategic communication.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We created a finance tool that allows users complete control over their data, successfully achieved with a one-time purchase model that offers lifetime updates.

What we learned

We learned the importance of user privacy in finance management tools and how manual budgeting can enhance financial awareness and responsibility.

We're excited to announce several new updates to Fyenance! Our latest release focuses on improving user experience and providing even more powerful tools for personal finance management. We've refined the Smart Dashboard to give users an even clearer overview of their financial situation at a glance. Additionally, we've enhanced our report generation capabilities, enabling users to gain deeper insights into their spending and saving patterns. The recurring transactions feature has been optimized for easier management of regular income and expenses.

On the technical side, we've upgraded the application to ensure even faster performance across all supported platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. As always, Fyenance remains a private, offline solution—your data is stored locally, with no cloud sync involved.
